The starting point is the former German customs post at Griesen bei Garmisch. Here is the start of the woodland path into the Neidernachtal, which always follows the course of the stream in a comfortable ride, gradually climbing as it leads up into the valley. A bridge over the stream marks the state border, the now somewhat narrower track makes its first demands on the upward journey into the Neidernach (1003m). One then rolls down a gradually sloping path to the Plansee (976m). On the northern bank as far as the Hotel Seespitze, one then reaches Heiterwang via the Heiterwanger See, and then on the "Zwischentoren"cycle track via Bichlbach to Lermoos. Along the national road to Ehrwald and on a cycle track northwards via the Schanz back to the starting point.
Break / refreshments
Hotel Forelle and Hotel Seespitze on the Plansee as well as a petrol station at the Schanz
Comments
A magnificent tour of the striking Daniel massif. Idyllic stretches in the Neidernachtal, wonderful ride high above the Plansee, alternatively there is a difficult trail along the lakeshore. Swimming possibilities at the Plansee and at the Heiterwanger See.
